St Kilda Day - Latha Hiort will mark the evacuation of St Kilda on August 29, 1930. It celebrates the St Kildans' lives and legacy in music, word and image throughout Scotland, building on the success of the 2007 St Kilda Opera, which can be seen at the Edinburgh International Festival 2009.

NEXT NORTHERN SOUL ALL-NIGHTER EVENT. ABERDEEN ALL-NIGHTER OVO ONLY .

DJ LINE UP KENNY BURRELL, LENNY HARKINS, ANDY DENNISON, BOB CAIRD, STEVE WILLOX, ACKY BUCHAN, HAYDN BYE.

10PM TILL 6AM .

SOULNIGHT IN MOTOWN BAR AT BEACH BEFORE ALL-NIGHTER 7.30PM. 12th September 2009.


This is one of the greatest Northern Soul Events held in Scotland and is the second Northern Soul All-Nighter event to take place in Scotland this year.


All of Scotland's All-Nighter events are held at the Beach Ballroom on Aberdeen's Beach front and is the perfect place to dance the night away from 10 PM - 6 AM as this is the only Soul venue in Scotland that can handle 700+ Dancers on its massive increasingly rare wooden sprung Dance Floor.

This venue is managed by Aberdeen City Council and its great credit to them for keeping this outstanding venue open to soul groups throughout the UK and beyond.


Granite City Northern Soul Club organises this event on an continual basis and tickets for this event are available at £12.

WORLD PIPE BAND CHAMPIONSHIPS - VENUE, GLASGOW GREEN.



8,000 pipes and drums, 200 bands, 1 world champion! Tomorrow Glasgow Green in Glasgow will see thousands of spectators captivated by "The World Championship Pipe Band Competition".
Pipe bands from an International arena will enthral the crowds with the skirl of the pipes.
This special day will also have; Highland Dancing, Drum Major Competitions and European Highland Games.
